Overview
This is a practical course that will help students gain knowledge of better song writing skills. The student will be required to do some exercises after every class which will be summed up in their cats.
At the end of the course, students will be required to record a song they have written.
Course content
The music writing trainee will learn the following:
- Introduction to music writing
- Object writing/focus your senses/theme
- A lesson in showing and telling
- Making metaphors
- Building worksheets/learning to say No
- Cliches/choosing the right words
- Productive Repetition
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, graduates will be able to
- Understand approaches to starting and finishing a song
- Understand the basic song forms
- Record own compositions

- 1 month
Entry requirements
- Copy of National ID
- 2 passport photos.
Attachment and industry exposure:
A 3-month academic internship is mandatory for all our certificate and diploma students. As part of their exposure as well we organize monthly mentorship sessions facilitated by industry professionals.
