Musical instruments are central to all forms of music. This course introduces the study of instruments, introducing methods and methodologies that can be used to inform ongoing studies across the music curriculum..

Course content

Music Producers will expand their technical knowledge. They will learn all about the creative aspects and technical aspects including:

• History of the musical instrument and cultural significance
• Theory and concept of musical instruments
• Technical aspects of musical instruments
• Musical ensembles
• Technical and musical development and interpretation

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, graduates will be able to

• Demonstrate a grounding in musical instrument studies [piano or drum set or guitar]
• Apply theoretical concepts and approaches derived from considering musical instruments from varied perspectives;
• Work with the technical and musical development and interpretation.
• Can organize and lead different musical ensembles and fellowships.
• Masters band instrument on a sufficient level
• Reflect systematically on own music theories.
• Shows self-insight while learning, development and thinking in new ways continuously.
  

Duration

• 20 sessions or 3 months per instrument.
